How to Get Rich and Have Everything you Want

 Many of the things that people do in life are in effort to make more money.  A desire to make money is usually the reason why people go back to school as adults, change careers or start businesses.  The desire to be rich--having more money than you need is also usually the reason why some people seek stardom, strike risky deals or work themselves too much.  Here are some ways I've heard will help you get rich:

• Redefine Rich.  What does it mean to you to be rich?  To me being rich means having more money than you know what to do with.  But is that what it really means to be rich?  In his latest book, Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All  Russell Simmons gives this definition  for being  rich, "state of consciousness where you're  able to see miracles of life unfolding in front of you all the time."p5.  Basically, he teaches in his book that it is a place where you achieve such a connection to your higher self that you no longer need money to be happy.  And a place where you realize that there is no difference between being a millionaire and being broke.  Really his definition of rich to me means that you rise above a place of needing material things to make you happy.  Russell suggests that when you come to a place of needing nothing you are actually able to get all the things you want because then you develop enough faith and courage to get what you want by not needing what you want.  Russell Simmons says, "When you can give your full attention to serving the world, instead of worrying about the world giving you things, you will be so attractive that people will literally start throwing money at your feet."p6

• Think like a rich person.  Our mind is very powerful and can either help us get what we want or keep us from getting what we want.  When you want to get rich you have to let go of a poverty mindset and start thinking like a rich person.  Rich people know that what makes them happy is not the toys they can buy but true happiness comes from the inside.

• Get in touch with your true gift and share that gift with the world.  Give your gift away.  Russell suggests handing your gift over to the world.  Don't wait for the perfect contract, book deal, movie deal, etc.  Just give your gift away.  If you are a writer start a blog.  Basically he says give it until they can't live without it.
