How to Cook Fried Chicken
By deestew
To make good fried chicken you will need the following:
- 1 whole chicken cut up or any amount of your favorite pieces. Ex: Large pack of just wings or large pack of just legs.
- Lawry’s Seasoning Salt
- All-purpose flour
- 1 Large Ziploc Bag—the size of a freezer bag
- Deep Fryer or Large Skillet
- Tongs
Prepare your chicken by washing it thoroughly in cool water. You can put it in a strainer so that the water will drain off. Leave that sitting in the sink.
Go ahead and get your skillet or deep fryer ready now.
You can get the large Ziploc bag. Put flour, maybe 1 or 2 cups, it depends on how much chicken you have into the Ziploc bag. Set this to the side.
Now get the Lawry’s seasoned salt and sprinkle it generously all over the chicken. Be sure to coat chicken as evenly as possible. After that drop the seasoned pieces of chicken into the prepared bag of flour a couple of pieces at a time. Hold the top of the bag closed and shake it up. This will coat the chicken with flour. Keep shaking it until each piece is covered. Continue this step until all the chicken has been floured.
As you flour each piece of chicken place them into the deep fryer or skillet and fry until golden brown. To test chicken to see if it is done you can poke it with a fork. The fork should go in easily and the juices should flow clear.
The first batch of chicken you fry will take the longest. As the chicken is done, remove each piece from the hot oil with your tongs and place on a plate or dish lined with paper towel to soak up the extra oil. Serve fried chicken with your favorite sides.

I enjoyed this hub because it shared a simple recipe, and who doesn't love fried chicken? Reminded me of my dad's recipe when he would fry it up, make awesome grave, pour it on and bake. It was wonderful comfort food. Thanks Dee!
