Free Crochet Pattern: Crocheted Breast Cancer Awareness Pin
66
Level: Easy
Items You Will Need:
- Pink Yarn
- G Size Crochet Hook
- White Pearl Bead
- Clasp for pin
- Yarn Needle
Directions
- Chain 27.
- Turn, sc in first st, hdc in next 25 sts, sc in last stitch.Fasten off.
- You will now have 2 strings hanging at the end. Tie these together in a knot and trim off excess yarn.
- Now you will want to thread some yarn into your yarn needle, about 12 inches long, take the crocheted strip you just made and fold it over to create your ribbon.
- Now sew the folded ribbon in place with a couple of stitches in the center. After you have secured the ribbon you can sew on the pearl bead.
- After you have sewn on the bead, turn the ribbon over and sew on the clasp to make the pin.
Now you have a cute pin to wear in show of your support in the fight for a cure! I love this little pin and have made and sold several to friends and coworkers. 10% of the proceeds from the pins that I make and sell I am donating to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. I have these available on my blog.
This crocheted pin is soft and not real sturdy so one tip you can use is starching your pin so that it will lay flat on clothing. I have hung one of these pins on my cubicle wall at work. It is a necessary reminder to get my exam!
Let me know if you try this. This is my first pattern so if you have questions I will try to answer them. I have found this to be an easy pattern to make. The only thing I don't like doing is attaching the pin clasp. I have thought about using hot glue instead but fear it would not hold up as well.
Happy Crocheting!
