7 Ways to Have a Better Day
67
Some days go bad because of situations that happen that are totally out of our control. During those days we just have to ride the wave and do our best to make it through. On the other hand, some days go bad because we don't use our skills and resources to make our days go better . When I realized this I decided to put together a list of things that a person could do to help make their day go better. Read further to see if you can find a few things on my list to make your day go better too:
- Plan your day the night before. This is a big one. Whether you are going on a trip or laying out your clothes, fixing your lunch, laying out suitcases, or whatever you need for the next day this will help things run more smoothly especially in the morning.
- Create a routine checklist. If you are forgetful like me then making yourself a checklist of the normal routine things you need to do or have with you before you leave the house will help you avoid making a trip back home or save you from having to do without something you need the whole day.
- Try not to over book yourself. Learn to say no to commitments or requests if you don't have the time. Write things down so that you don't double book yourself.
- Schedule time for things you enjoy. Most of our days are spent meeting the needs of others, carving out a little time for ourselves keeps us balanced and helps make the day more fun!
- Take time to connect with other people around you. Who are the people in your life? Have you hugged anyone today? Have you spoken with anyone in person or on the phone? We can draw positive energy from our relationships with laughter and love.
- Don't skip breakfast. Breakfast is one of the most tempting meals to skip, however is one of the most important meals of the day. I once heard in another country--I can't remember which--it is a tradition to eat their biggest meal in the morning as opposed to the evening like we do in the US. If you think about it, this makes sense on so many levels!
- Leave early, arrive on time. If I'm late in the morning I feel like my whole day is a little off. I'm teaching myself to leave earlier to be able to get to where I need to go on time, and to have a little cushion time for unexpected events.

Great suggestions on how to make each day a better day. Advance planning definitely helps, even if those plans have to be changed because of unforseen events.

Great Hub :)
Another one is "Give a compliment."
Randomly complimenting someone often brightens their day, and that good feeling spreads to you! Sooner or later someone might just pay you an unsolicited compliment, too!
Some great tips here, I think number 1 is really important.
Thanks for sharing.
One thing I need to do, is schedule time. I don't seem to have enough time in the day to accomplish what I always wish to do. Thank you for the tips! :)
Skipping breakfast, I do that all the time because I'm rushing in the morning. Thanks for getting us back to some basic helpful advice.
